Scriptwriter Agnes de Guzman; 49
Scriptwriter Agnes de Guzman passed away on Nov. 26 after a valiant battle with breast cancer.
She would have turned 50 in January.
She wrote the screenplays of the indie films directed by Adolfo Alix Jr.: “Presa” and “Nars.” The news was relayed to the Inquirer by Alix, who was attending a film festival in Nantes, France.
De Guzman also wrote for television shows like “Pira-Pirasong Pangarap,” “Maynila,” “Pieta” and “Nasaan Ka, Elisa?” among others.
According to fellow scriptwriter Jerome Zamora, she directed a short film, “I Heart Roger,” which starred Joross Gamboa. “She won best story from the Gawad Tanglaw for her work in ‘Presa,’ which also won best indie film in last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival,” said Zamora.
The wake was held at De Guzman’s home in Sta. Ines, Mabalacat, Pampanga. She was laid to rest on Nov. 30, also in her hometown, according to uncle Nelly Angeles.
