The summer of 2017 was an exciting time, filled with beach parties, road trips, and flights out of the country. It was a flurry of activity, but as the season winds down, it’s best to slow things down and chill. Globe Live and Bonifacio High Street is capping off the season with the Summer ASAP Soul Sessions, a laidback evening of tunes with music royalty Kyla, Jay-R, Jason Dy, and Daryl Ong.
The four singers will treat fans to an unforgettable night of mellow songs on May 27 at the Globe ICONIC Store in Bonifacio High Street.
“Summer was all about living it up at the beach, but the season is almost ending. We want to give it a proper sendoff and welcome the cooler months with an evening of music,” says Executive Producer and Globe Retail Transformation and Stores Management Advisor, Joe Caliro. “What better way to do this than by inviting people to the Summer ASAP Soul Sessions at the Globe Iconic Store?”
The event will feature four of the country’s most talented crooners like Kyla, dubbed the Queen of R&B and winner of MTV Viewer’s Choice Award for Southeast Asia in 2001; Jay-R, a singer and songwriter known as the Prince of R&B, and mentor of the show We Love OPM; Jason Dy, the second winner of The Voice of the Philippines; and Daryl Ong, a contestant on the second season of The Voice of the Philippines. All four members are regular sessionistas of ASAP, ABS-CBN’s Sunday show.
Globe Live is the telecommunication brand’s content producer, that staged the award-winning and much-loved musicals American Idiot, A Christmas Carol, and the upcoming musical Newsies in partnership with 9Works Theatrical.
“Globe has vast experience in producing world-class shows and events, and we’ve explored that in the musicals we’ve done in Globe Live,” shares Caliro. “We’re doing that again by bringing Summer ASAP Soul Sessions favorites to the public, where we can highlight Filipino talent and give everyone the chance to enjoy it in a casual atmosphere.”
