Kim Woo-bin of ‘Uncontrollably Fond’ diagnosed with throat cancer

According to his agency, Korean actor Kim Woo-bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer, K-Pop Herald reports.

“Kim Woo-bin wasn’t feeling good and recently visited a doctor. We found out that he has a nasopharyngeal cancer,” Sidus HQ said in a statement. “He started receiving drug treatment and radiation therapy. Please cheer and support him.”

The agency’s official also said the actor will focus on getting treatment for a while.

Nasopharyngeal cancer affects the nasopharynx, which is in the upper part of the throat, behind the nose.

Kim was set to start shooting an upcoming film tentatively titled “Docheong” this summer. 

The production team said it will begin filming later and would wait for him to return in good health.
