Before promising to pay the tuition and student loans of struggling students, Nicki Minaj had been covertly donating cash to poverty-stricken Indian villages for years.

The 34-year-old rapper posted a video on her Instagram page on Saturday showing an Indian man installing a hand pump in Athipattu village while his fellow villagers crowded around him. She also founded two computer centers in the villages of Enmore and Kolathur and a sewing center in Thiruvalluvar Nagar, according to Business Insider.

“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the proudest. The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley] has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and two water wells,” Minaj captioned her post.

Minaj said that her altruistic commitments in the country were far from over. “We complain about the most ridiculous [little] things when some people don’t even have clean water. Our work is far from done,” she said.

In another post on the photo-sharing platform, Indian women were granted two sewing machines to boost their livelihood.

I'm so proud of our sisters in India. God is so good. Their desire was to have water wells & places where they can worship, places where they can learn technology, computers, reading, etc. We're just getting started. These women are us and we are them!
