National Youth Commission Chair Aiza Seguerra apologized to Sen. Tito Sotto for commenting on the lawmaker’s statements regarding Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo’s status as a single parent in social media.

Aiza explained: “I went to him to say sorry, not for having a different stand on the issue, but because I went to social media to express it instead of talking to him directly. He apologized to me also. My love for him will never change. There is nothing wrong with us having dissenting opinions. What’s wrong was that I shouldn’t have used social media to express mine because he is family to me. I will always be vocal about my views on social issues. And as chair, I will make sure to create policies that will support whatever it is that I am fighting for.” —MARINEL R. CRUZ
