Taylor Swift fans—Swifties—love her for the country-pop star’s personal and sweet gestures, from sending them Christmas gifts (dubbed ‘”Swiftmas”) to featuring them in music videos (“Shake It Off”).
Since 2016, the 27-year-old, who is usually open about her personal life, has been lying low. But recently, Swift made time to RSVP to a fan’s graduation party invite.
Ashley Silvers, who has been a Swiftie for eight years, was surprised when she received flowers and a handwritten letter from the singer.
The singer apologized for being unable to attend the party: “The New York theme, the photo booth, it being on the 13th…that’s my kind of party.”
She also gave encouraging words: “I’m so proud of you, your hard work and dedication, your excitement and ambition. I’m very lucky that a girl like you cares about me.”
The Grammy-award winner even included a stick drawing of Silvers and an outline of New York, with the lyrics “It’s been waiting for you” from Swift’s song “Welcome to New York”.
The gifts are posted on Silver’s Twitter:

E! News reported that Ashley Silvers sent her an email that was on the singer’s website, and also went the extra mile to mail the invitation to her Nashville headquarters. The college graduate also included a message explaining why Swift meant so much to her.
Swift should expect her mailbox to be full—fans responding to the tweet were eager to send her handwritten notes as well. Niña V. Guno/JB
