Before going to Norway, Carlo Francisco Manatad’s “Fatima Marie Torres and the Invasion of Space Shuttle Pinas 25” will compete in the 33rd Hamburg International Short Film Festival, set in Germany from June 6 to 12.
According to its website, the Hamburg fest “celebrates short films as an independent art form … and offers filmmakers the chance to get in touch with the audience and each other.”
The fest expects roughly 14,000 visitors to watch this year’s program of 400 films from Germany and other parts of the world.
After Hamburg, “Fatima” will vie for the top honor at the 40th Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, Norway, from June 14 to 18.—BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
