Glib personalities get entangled in unlikely office romance

Every so often, we see them on the boob tube—engaging in giddy repartee that seems harmless enough.

Or so we thought.

Seems Glib Personality is smitten with equally Gregarious Colleague. The office romance is but the latest in a string of unlikely pairings in this wanton workplace.

GC is known for being, well, amorous—canoodling with this and that famous person between assignments.

FEATURED STORIES

GP, on the other hand, has always been notorious for wooing naïve upstarts (like GC); some of them unwilling participants in the sordid affair (unlike GC).

GP and GC best proceed with caution, though.

Bill O’Reilly should serve as a cautionary tale for this delirious duo.

Hush, hush

If you are wondering why Vociferous Star seems fearless, it’s because of a Powerful Supporter.

VS continues to evade the long arm of the law, even though not a few people have heard the rumors of unbridled drug use.

Turned out VS had already gotten in trouble with cops. SV was supposedly caught with other junkies in an operation.

A Well-placed Insider, however, saved VS from jail time (and a career-ending scandal).

WI purportedly asked for one night of purple pleasure with VS, in exchange for the “protection.”

Uh-oh.

Certified meanie

Guess who had just joined the ever-growing list of meanies in show biz?

Not even the most ardent of fans can ignore the persistent chatter about Glamorous Beauty’s nasty attitude.

Chatty Groupie had just confirmed what everyone knew all along. GB was not only a certified snob; the bully was also rude to perceived lackeys. Worse, GB can be a tattletale—inventing all sorts of disparaging gossip against purported enemies.

No wonder GB is not that well-liked in the industry.

For the love of money

The troubled union of Ditzy Celebrity and Shiftless Partner was headed to splitsville, according to kibitzers.

DC was on the verge of calling it quits.

At the very last minute, DC decided not to walk out of the family home.

What prevented the separation? DC was allegedly concerned about the Morality Clause in several commercial endorsements.

Love didn’t save the day, this time. Try love of money.

Gifted

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:

Tongues are wagging. Skeptics raised their brows when Handsome Charmer built a rest house in the clan’s bucolic hometown.

To top it off, HC was able to invest in a business venture for cash-strapped relatives.

Intrigue-mongers suspect that the fab home and the fledgling enterprise were gifts from Wealthy Benefactor.

As expected, HC adamantly denies the scuttlebutt.

File under OFW: OK. Fine. Whatever.

Top of show biz news

For those who missed last weekend’s show biz news on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)

Angeli Bayani on starring in the short film, “Jodilerks dela Cruz, Employee of the Month,” which premieres in Cannes in May : “Hindi ako gumagawa ng comedy, so gusto ko rin ma-experience ’yun.” (That’s the Cannes-do spirit.)

John Prats, asked if he wants another baby soon with wife Isabel Oli: “Kapag binigay, OK sa amin. Gusto ko lang another healthy baby, para may kasama na si Feather.” (Duster ang name?)

Marian Rivera on panicking after seeing Baby Zia looking listless: “Tinutubuan pala ng mga ngipin—apat! E siyempre, first-time mom, so ang OA ko mag-react!” (Being OA is par for the course.)

Marian on juggling career and motherhood: “Time management talaga. Mahirap pa rin sa akin na iwanan ang anak ko, kaya kailangang i-balance talaga ang oras.” (A mom is a juggler, too.)

Filmmaker Jerrold Tarog on the rating of his film, “Bliss,” being changed from X to R: “It’s not so much vindication as relief—na nabigyan ng chance ipalabas ’yung pelikula, and that there are people in the MTRCB who treat the Filipino audience as adults.” (Burn, baby, burn!)

Newcomer Gil Cuerva on doing the GMA 7 series, “My Love from the Star” with Jennylyn Mercado : “It’s work, but I enjoy what I do, and that’s the best part about it.” (Moving on.)

Jennylyn Mercado

Jennylyn Mercado

Jennylyn on her chemistry with Gil: “Kahit papaano, nakakapag-share na kami ng mga experience namin sa isa’t isa. Importante sa katrabaho ang foundation, para mas totoo ang pag-arte.” (On the set, every day is Foundation Day!)

Megan Young, asked if her boyfriend Mikael Daez had already asked her to get married: “Given na six years na kami, of course, napag-usapan na namin ang marriage. But now is probably not the right time.” (Rushes says: Please don’t rush.)
