Singer-comedienne Cacai Bautista has only positive words for her online haters.
She penned a message on Instagram urging her fans to stay confident with themselves. Barking back at bashers, Bautista has stood firm on her beliefs on cyber-bullying and body-shaming.
“Bullying gave me so much confidence. If I can, you can,” she wrote. “You don’t have to please everyone, You just have to love yourself in order to please all those deserving of your love, trust, respect and affection.”
“And if this post would hurt you, then stop hurting yourself – start appreciating who you are,” Bautista added. In a comment to a netizen’s good-hearted comment, she added, “Wala naman talagang mali sa picture. Ang tumitingin lang ang naglalagay ng kamalian (There is nothing wrong with the picture. Only the one who’s looking at it makes it wrong).”
Bautista, 38, has always been vocal on Instagram about people who continue to berate her physical appearance. In another Instagram post showing her flaunting a two-piece swimsuit, she addressed herself as a “Hall of Famer” when it comes to having a swarm of haters but remained jaunty and buoyant in dealing with them.
“I love my curves. It means happiness to me – a proof that I have enjoyed all the food I wanted to eat. My tummy and heart are happy,” Bautista said.
“I pity those body shaming people on social media [and] in public. Oh well, I am Hall [of] Famer. When they don’t see beauty in others, they don’t see beauty in them.” Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
