ANDERSON AS BUDOY. He’s got what it takes to be a serious actor.

Chito Hipolito, musician, shares: “Watching Lea Salonga perform with Ryan Cayabyab on TV last Sunday transported me back to the time when Mr. C was hosting ‘Ryan, Ryan Musikahan,’ one of TV’s best musical shows ever.

“I’ve long given up on our musical-variety shows. There’s no doubt that we have the best musical talents, but the TV networks are so fond of featuring their young contract stars, and most of them can’t sing to save their lives! How about a monthly musical special featuring Lea and Ryan?”

Rosie Garcia, televiewer: “Whoever is charting the career path of Gerald Anderson took the risk of deglamorizing the young actor in ‘Budoy.’ The gamble is turning out to be a wise decision, after all!

Screen partners

“Gerald is a delight to watch, alongside veterans like Janice de Belen, ZsaZsa Padilla, Mylene Dizon and Tirso Cruz III. He has upped the acting ante for his contemporaries. He’s not content just playing consort to his screen partners, and proves he’s got what it takes to be a serious actor. I hope he continues to get even more challenging roles!”

Ellen Barrera, office employee: “When are we going to see Edu Manzano doing what he does best on TV – as a talk show host? Perhaps TV5 can tap the sorely missed Edu and add him to its stellar assembly of stars. Let’s put those silly game shows to rest, please!”

Insoy Galia, videographer: “I wonder who conceptualizes GMA 7’s station IDs. I’ve seen its Christmas station ID, and it’s better than its rivals’, which lack creativity and imagination.”
