Filipino-American Anatalia Villaranda failed to advance to the Top 12 of “The Voice US” after not getting enough public votes that will carry her through the singing competition’s Live Shows.

The 16-year-old Villaranda, who was born in the US from Filipino parents, delivered a rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me” for her last performance. She also did not get a “save” from her coach Alicia Keys.

The artists who would represent Team Alicia in the Live Shows were Chris Blue, Stephanie Rice, and Vanessa Ferguson. Eliminated with Villaranda were Jack Cassidy and Ashley Levin.

During her blind audition, the California-based Villaranda turned the heads of Keys and fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani  with her performance of Bruno Mars’ “Runaway Baby.” She also successfully hurdled the show’s Battle round with a rendition of Carrie Underwood’s “Two Black Cadillacs.”

Villaranda, whose mother is from Bacolod and father is from Manila, also auditioned for the final season of “American Idol” in 2016.

Another Fil-Am singer Gaby Borromeo also made it to the current season of The Voice US under Team Adam, but got booted out during the Battle rounds. YG/IDL
