Just days before the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise (“The Fate of the Furious”) is shown in cinemas, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has finally addressed his supposed feud with co-star Vin Diesel. The conflict was reportedly due to multiple instances of mutual discord during filming.

But according to Entertainment Tonight, the former WWE superstar has let “let bygones be bygones” and is moving past the incident.

“Just like in life, you have different philosophies and people have different fundamental philosophies on how you do things,” Johnson told the news outlet during a red-carpet event to promote the film.

“And again, the most important thing is just the movie. So I’m happy that we’re here in New York City, I’m happy the fans love it.”

The 49-year-old Diesel seemed to share the sentiments and echoed his co-star’s message of reconciliation.

“We still love each other, that’s my boy,” Diesel described his relationship with “The Rock.” “When I was making that difficult decision, should there be an ‘8’ or not, I called [Johnson] and he said, ‘Brother, I will be there shoulder to shoulder with you to make sure it’s the best movie in history.’ And he delivered.”

The franchise’s most prominent lead added that the conflict wasn’t really as bad as people perceived it to be.

“I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention,” he said. “I know he appreciates how much I work this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne.”

Diesel, who plays the series’ alpha Dominic Torretto, has appeared in seven of the eight movies and also acts as one of the producers of the film.

Johnson, who plays former Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs, joined the franchise in Fast Five in 2011 and has been a staple ever since. Khristian Ibarrola
