After drawing flak on social media, TV host-model Isabelle Daza has apologized for her “insensitive” Instagram story that poked fun at the hunger-plagued children of Africa while fitting a hat for her vacation.
In an Instagram story, Daza called her remark as “offensive” and a “lapse of judgment,” as she promised to be more careful of what she posts on the internet.
(Instagram Stories is Instagram’s photo story feature that lets users create photo and video sequences that expire after 24 hours.)

“Hi guys, I just wanted to apologize for the previous IG story post on Africa vs hats. It didn’t come off the way I played it in my head—it was insensitive and offensive and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Daza wrote in another Instagram story.
“It was a lapse of judgment and I appreciate the feedback from you guys. Moving forward I will nbe more mindful of what I post. Again I am sorry,” she added.
In one of her Instagram stories on Saturday, Daza took a picture of herself trying on a brown hat with the text: “Buy this hat for my Africa looks or FEED children in Africa for the same price?”
“What would Angelina Jolie do?!” Daza added, referring to the American actress and humanitarian who was appointed special envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in 2012.
Daza is on vacation in South Africa with her husband Adrien Semblat. YG/rga
