As they take on a movie that tackles love, marriage and separation, Kapamilya prime love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla share their personal thoughts on marriage annulment and divorce.
In Star Cinema’s latest movie “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which they topbill, the movie spins off with its characters seeking separation from each other through annulment. But in real life, do they actually believe in separation?
Bernardo lays it straight that she is “open to it.”
“Naniniwala ako na pag yung dalawang tao ‘di na nagwo-work yung isang relationship, yun yung gagawin ko pag nangyare sakin kasi ayoko naman na pilitin mo yung sarili mo na mag-stay sa isang relationship dahil kasal lang kayo wala na yung love, wala na yung desire niyo para sa isa’t-isa,” Bernardo said at Tuesday’s blog con for the movie.
(I believe that if the relationship between two people doesn’t work anymore, what I will most likely do is to separate from him if that happens to me because I would not want to force someone to stay in a relationship just because we’re married, because the love is not there anymore, your desire for each other is not there anymore.)
Padilla also shared the same views.
“Pag kinasal kayo ibig sabihin nagmamahalan pa kayo, kung ayaw niyo na eh ‘di ayaw niyo na, ga’nun lang naman yun (If you get married, it means you’re in love with each other, but if you fall out of love, well, that’s it),” he said.
The movie also marks their team-up’s sixth anniversary and, hence, the pair offers a more mature KathNiel to their fans.
“Can’t Help Falling in Love” is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, and starts showing on April 15 in cinemas nationwide. /ra
