Kpop group BTS safely wraps up US tour despite death threat

BTS safely finished its tour in the US on Sunday, local time, despite the death threat that had targeted Jimin.

The group went on a series of live concerts in Newark, Chicago and Anaheim between March 23 and Sunday.

Before the start of the tour, a social media post had emerged claiming plans to shoot Jimin on stage in Anaheim, California. The threat had raised alarms, triggering tighter security around and inside the concert halls.

The death threat turned out to be a malicious joke that was not carried out.

The show in Anaheim was a two-day concert taking place Saturday and Sunday. Following Saturday’s successful show, BTS’ J-hope left an upbeat Twitter message, “Cali, Cali, see you again tomorrow.”

The band’s next stop for the global tour is Bangkok, Thailand, on April 22 and 23.
