Olivia Newton-John teases reunion for Grease’s 40th year in 2018
Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta will reprise their roles as Sandy and Danny for the 4oth anniversary of “Grease” next year.
The veteran actress divulged to The Mirror that she and Travolta were planning a project as the iconic movie turns four decades old in 2018. This is indeed a nostalgic present for their fans pining for Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson to frolic to the “Summer Nights” track once again.
Before collecting her Icon Award at the Fame Awards in Las Vegas, Newton-John hinted at a reunion with the actor but kept reticent regarding details of the project. “We are thinking up ways. Nothing to announce yet,” she said. “Forty years anniversary of ‘Grease’, which I can’t believe. Time goes so fast. It is so exciting.”
Whether her talks with Travolta would bear fruit in the form of either a movie sequel or a TV series, Newton-John, 68, said that the project might be one of her last gigs in Hollywood.
Reminiscing her five-decade trek in show biz, she said, “As time goes on, I think of doing less and having more time off.”
