Heart Evangelista to reprise Locsin’s role in ‘Mulawin vs Ravena’

Actress-designer Heart Evangelista-Escudero will play the role of Alwina, the female protagonist of GMA’s upcoming series “Mulawin vs Ravena.”

The cast of the sought-after “Mulawin” sequel was revealed on “24 Oras” on Monday, during which Evangelista donned her revitalized bird costume for the character formerly played by Angel Locsin.

On the other hand, Dennis Trillo will regain his famed role as Ravena Gabriel, now the King of Halcoria.

Carla Abellana will portray the role of Mulawin Aviona, which was played by Bianca King in the 2004 series. TJ Trinidad and teen stars Bea Binene and Bianca Umali will also join the series.

Derrick Monasterio will breathe life into the character of Almiro, the offspring of Aguiluz and Alwina. His fellow co-star Miguel Tan Felix plays the role of Pagaspas, which he first played in the movie sequel “Mulawin: The Movie” in 2005.

Lovi Poe will play a new character in the sequel: Magindara, the water goddess.

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid will soar on the series as Sandawa, another new addition to the story.

Other big-time stars who will appear in “Mulawin vs Ravena” are Kiko Estrada, Angelou de Leon, Winwyn Marquez, Chynna Ortaleza, Bobby Andrews, Roi Vinzon, Nova Villa, Joko Diaz and David Licauco.

The series will be directed by Don Michael Perez and Dominic Zapata.

Locsin teamed up with Richard Guttierez for “Mulawin,” which was aired in 2004. Aguiluz, originally played by Gutierrez, will not appear in the series since he passed away at “Mulawin: The Movie.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
