Ironically, the most-followed celebrity on Instagram has now distanced away from her classy Instagram world.

Selena Gomez revealed in a recent Interview with Vogue that despite having millions of online fans clicking the like button on her selfies, she had grown tired of investing time on the photo-sharing app.

“As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram, I sort of freaked out. It had become so consuming to me. It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to,” Gomez said.

To lighten up her spirits but not those of her 113 million Instagram “Selenators,” she deleted the app on her phone and eventually forgot her own password. Her personal assistant posts photos on her behalf.

“I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see like it was putting things in my head that I didn’t want to care about. I always end up feeling like s**t when I look at Instagram,” the “It Ain’t Me” singer said. “Which is why I’m kind of under the radar, ghosting it a bit.”

Gomez, 24, unplugged from her music career in 2016 to undergo treatment of her lupus disease and anxiety. She added, “People so badly wanted me to be authentic, and when that happened, finally, it was a huge release. I’m not different from what I put out there. I’ve been very vulnerable with my fans, and sometimes I say things I shouldn’t. But I have to be honest with them. I feel that’s a huge part of why I’m where I am.”

Going under the paparazzi radar helped Gomez recover, but she had to sacrifice changing her phone number and limiting her friends’ list. “I think 17 people have my phone number right now, maybe two are famous,” she said.

When asked about her status with rumored boyfriend The Weeknd, Gomez foiled the topic and wished people could forget about her. “Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am, but—how can I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me,” she blasted out.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
