Now 45 years old, Thalia is a glamorous epitome of ageless beauty, still glowing decades after she starred in hit telenovelas “Marimar,” “Rosalinda,” “Maria la del Barrio” and “Maria Mercedes.”
As evidenced by her stunning photos on her Facebook and Instagram page, the Mexican pop star and actress, crowned by media as the “Queen of Latin Pop,” has managed to maintain her youthful glow and seamless body.
After her recent win at the Premio Lo Nuestro 2017 awards in Florida, Thalia also posted a fan-edited photo of her being crowned by 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.” You guys are funny, I love your montages,” she captioned the meme.
Thalia has been a breakthrough star in the Spanish-speaking world and in the Philippines. Prior to her small-screen reign, she produced chart-topping hits such as “Amor a la Mexicana,” “Desde Esa Noche” and “No No No.”
While in the Philippines back in 1997 to meet with fans, Thalia released her compilation album “Nandito Ako,” which went 2x diamond with over a million copies sold in the country.
Through the years, Filipino stars remade the four big telenovelas popularized by Thalia in the ’90s.
In 2009, primetime loveteam Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera starred in the remake of “Marimar,” which was televised in the US and several Asian countries. Following Marimar’s success, Carla Abella was tapped to portray the titular role in the remake of “Rosalinda.”
On ABS-CBN, Erich Gonzales portrayed Thalia’s original lead role in “Maria la del Barrio,” while Jessy Mendiola starred in the remake of “Maria Mercedes.” Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
