‘Gilmore Girls’ execs in discussions with Netflix for second season
The producers of a revived “Gilmore Girls” are in discussions with Netflix about the possibility of a second season, according to chief content officer, Ted Sarandos.
“They sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that,” Sarandos said, speaking at a Netflix event in Germany.
His words were matched up with corresponding sentiments from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino by Deadline, which carried the report, who had previously told TVLine that the miniseries was designed to leave viewers “wanting more” and that she wasn’t in the habit of ruling anything out.
Debuting November 25, 2016, the four-part miniseries “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” saw the return of Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore, Alexis Bledel as her daughter Rory, Luke Danes as family friend and (spoilers!) Lorelai’s eventual partner Scott, and Kelly Bishop as Lorelei’s mother, Emily. JB
