Actor Gerald Anderson is both excited and nervous for his first full marathon in Los Angeles, California on March 19.

Anderson now trains doubly hard despite his showbiz commitments in full swing. He admits it is not easy to juggle the dual roles of being an actor and athlete.

S’yempre, actor-athlete ako (Of course, I’m an actor-athlete). [But] ‘actor’ comes first,” Anderson asserted.

Anderson admitted to Pep.ph and ABS-CBN during an interview about his upcoming run that indeed it can be hard to keep kind of schedule he has to observe.

“But, you know, kapag gusto mo talaga, may paraan (if you really want something, you can always find a way),” Anderson added.

Whenever he has a chance, he said he really injects in some training time to further prepare, sometimes in between tapings or during breaks. He gets to do full-on training during his free days. He regrets not to have been able to train lately, though, in view of non-stop tapings.

Anderson counts as part of his training the 5 kilometer-fun run co-organized by Star Magic and Skechersat West McKinley, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig yesterday (March 5). It also served as a send-off and pre-birthday celebration for the actor.

Anderson is currently busy doing his reunion project with Kim Chiu on ABS-CBN, “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin”. They will also star in an upcoming “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode.

Kailangan ko ng training pa because two weeks na lang, kinakabahan na ako. But I’m excited. ‘Yung Skechers, sobrang nagpapasalamat ako for trusting me na kaya kong tapusin ang 42k. Mas mataas yung confidence nila kaysa sa akin. But, of course, ibabalik ko sa kanila yung confidence na binalik nila sa akin,” he said.

(I still need to train because I just have two weeks left. I’m very nervous but I’m excited. I am very thankful to Sketchers for believing that I can finish 42k. They have more confidence in me than I do for myself. But of course, I will [do my best in the run] to give back to them the confidence they gave me.)

Will Bea Alonzo be with him in L.A.?

Meanwhile, he was also asked if rumored girlfriend Bea Alonzo will be with him in Los Angeles.

The actor just smiled and answered, “Just support. ‘Yun naman ang pinaka-importante diyan, e, just being supportive (That’s the most important thing, just being supportive).”

Anderson reasons that Alonzo is also busy with her own projects. JB
