Legendary American comedian Steve Martin has signed up to teach an online MasterClass on comedy, with the crash course scheduled to start this spring.
Martin, whose film credits include film comedies such as “The Pink Panther”, “Parenthood” and “Father of the Bride” will focus on his specific process throughout the classes, including performing, writing and editing, with participants able to upload videos of their routines and get feedback from fellow students. The actor will critique select student work.
The complete course will feature over 25 videos via the online education platform with a downloadable workbook included. Pre-enrollment is open now for $90 (around P4,500).
A trailer explaining further details on the MasterClass course was also recently unveiled, where Martin opens with the joke: “I hope you’ve got your list of things you’ll need to take this course: Your marble apple and your stapler – very essential to learn comedy!”
Martin is the latest instructor in a string of celebrities to join the MasterClass roster, which has previously featured courses from the likes of Christina Aguilera, Kevin Spacey, Usher, Serena Williams, Werner Herzog and Gordon Ramsey. JB
