‘Kubo’ director to helm upcoming ‘Bumblebee’ film

“Kubo and the Two Strings” director Travis Knight has been tapped to helm the upcoming “Transformers” franchise spin-off movie “Bumblebee”.

The film will mark Knight’s live-action directorial debut, and the studio’s first spin-off following on the hugely successful “Transformers” franchise, which has grossed more than $3 billion at the worldwide box office.

While plot details are still unknown, the movie will focus on the popular autobot character who has appeared in all of Michael Bay’s films, with the script penned by three-time Black List scribe Christina Hodson.

As per Variety, Bay, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Spielberg are attached to produce. JB
