Netflix set to hit 100 million subscribers

Netflix is on track to hit the 100 million subscriber milestone worldwide, revealed CEO Reed Hastings at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Monday.

Hastings was a keynote speaker at the largest event for the wireless industry, and told attendees that half of Netflix subscribers come from markets outside the United States. The online streaming service is available in 130 countries worldwide.

Netflix marked a milestone achievement at the Oscars Sunday, winning the statuette for its documentary “The White Helmets” about rescue workers in war-torn Syria.

The GSM Mobile World Congress runs until March 2. JB
