Comedian Ethel Booba brought the house down when she graced ShowbizLive, Inquirer’s entertainment talk show, last night, February 15.
Loaded with her famous hit tweets and banters, her “Charotism” book has gained quite a following and had readers curious about the wit and wisdom of Ethel Booba.
While there are a few who perceive the book as “nonsense,” the book actually is the opposite, Booba asserted.
“Marami itong positive, hindi sa droga ha, puro mga positive thinking, moral lessons,” she said.
(“[The book] has a lot of positive [things in it], not ‘positive in drugs’ but all about positive thinking, moral lessons.”)
The funny lady even related the status of her book in the book stores to her love life. The actress stated that indeed, like her book, she is “available.”
Ethel admits liking players again
After being linked to some notable names in the past, which eventually resulted to failed relationships, the bombshell comedian said she is starting to develop preference for basketball players again.
“Gusto ko yung mga player ulit. Ganun pala talaga ‘yun, umiikot siya [preference] tapos bumabalik,” she said.
(“I want players again. That seems to be how it goes, it [the preference] goes in a circle and returns.”)
She said she wants her next boyfriend to be a basketball player again.
While she set her ultimate requirement for her next boyfriend, the 40-year-old comedian describes herself as “very maternal” when she is in love.
“Buong dibdib ibibigay,” she jokes. “Parang may pagka-mother (like a mother), very plain housewife,” she said.
Her manner of loving somebody is also domesticated, she further joked, “Katulong, yayabels. (Like a maid or nanny.)”

“I was never cheated”
While most relationships end because of infidelity, Booba says she was never cheated on.
“Wala akong gano’ng case,” she says as she recalled how her relationships ended.
She also describes herself as a faithful partner, explaining that although loyalty has been present in her past relationships, internal conflicts were the main causes of the breakups.
“Napagod na lang siguro ako. (I guess I just got tired.),” she said.
Given her typical funny nature, she could not help but poke fun on that answer yet again, “Minsan din kasi may mga lalaking abusado, ‘yung kumukuha na lang bigla ng pera sa wallet.”
(“Sometimes there really are just men who take advantage, those types that just go on ahead and take money out of your wallet.”)
Despite throwing it out as a joke, the comedy bar superstar hit back and said, “Maraming ganyan, gusto niyo mag-name drop ako?” she asked, bringing the entire studio to laughter.
(“There are a lot of those; you want me to namedrop?”)
