Cheer Factor: ‘Halaw’ wins Asian development prize

Filipino filmmaker Sheron Dayoc’s “Halaw” won the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Netpac Development Prize, with a $5,000 grant. The prize is “designed to nurture outstanding talent in the region.” After Sao Paulo, “Halaw” will be screened in Kolkata and Luang Prabang fests. Bayani San Diego Jr.
