After weeks of speculation on the status of their relationship, Erich Gonzales finally spoke out and gave her confirmation: “It’s over”.
The young actress, who recently deleted all of her couple photos, showing her with former boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga on her Instagram account, broke her silence and confirmed their breakup to the media.
“It’s true po that we’re not together anymore. It’s over. To be honest po ayoko po talagang mag-detalye. I just want to move on,” Gonzales said.
(“It’s true that we’re not together anymore. It’s over. To be honest, I don’t really want to go into details. I just want to move on.”)
However, rumors of a third party was quickly dismissed by both Gonzales and Matsunaga. Nonetheless, the actress stressed that she and her now “ex” are not in speaking terms.
“Hindi po kami nag-uusap. It’s not true that we are talking. Hindi po kami magkaibigan. Walang third party po.”
(“We are not speaking to each other. It’s not true that we are talking. We are not friends. There is no third party.”)
The Kapamilya actress, through a press conference by her home network ABS-CBN, revealed that while she is going through a rough time right now, she has God, her family, friends, and loyal people who care for her to thank. Right now, the actress stresses that she just wants to help herself move on from the failed relationship.
“I think I just have to accept na may mga bagay po talagang we cannot control. Life goes on,” she said. “I deleted the photos. I unfollowed them. I just want to help myself,” she elaborated.
(“I think I just have to accept that there are things we really cannot control. Life goes on. I deleted the photos. I unfollowed them. I just want to help myself.”)
Despite the pain she feels, she said that she definitely learned something from her relationship with Matsunaga, “Siguro kapag nagmahal ka, kailangan magtira ka para sa sarili mo.”
(“Perhaps when you love, you have to leave something for yourself.”)
Seeming very hurt, as told by her body language as she spoke to the media, Erich said the weight of the pain she feels will definitely not permit her ever from being friends with Matsunaga.
“Sa nararamdaman ko po ngayon, hindi po. I don’t want to say anything more. I just want to move on,” Gonzales declared.
(“With what I am feeling right now, no [on being asked if she can remain friends with Matsunaga]. I don’t want to say anything more. I just want to move on.”)
