‘Fifty Shades Darker’ earns record-breaking P18-M on 1st day

The romantic thriller “Fifty Shades Darker” earned P18 million on its opening day on Wednesday, breaking the record for the biggest gross ever for a film with an R-18 rating.
According to United International Pictures, the sequel’s opening day surpassed the original Fifty Shades of Grey’s P15 million first-day take in 2015.
The film was approved in its original US version, and was given a rating of R-18 by the Movie & Television Rating and Classification Board (MTRCB). Moviegoers will be able to watch the film without cuts, blurs, and blacked-out parts, unlike when the first movie was shown in the country.
