Sunshine Cruz hands off on stepson Diego’s feud with Cesar

Actress Sunshine Cruz has declared her support for stepson Diego Loyzaga over the raging feud between him and her estranged husband, Cesar Montano. However, she was cautious in answering questions about his alleged drug use.
In the sidelines of the press conference for ABS-CBN’s newest afternoon series “Wildflower” (which succeeds “Doble Kara” starting Monday, Feb. 13), Cruz said after being asked about Loyzaga’s outrage against his father, “It’s really not my business. It’s between Diego and his father, so ayaw po natin hangga’t maaari na makisawsaw diyan kasi wala po tayong kinalaman. (We don’t want to interfere as much as possible because we’re not involved in the matter). I really love Diego. My kids are very proud and they love Diego. I’m just here to support him. Nandito kami, nagmamahal sa kanya. Marami kami (We are here, a lot of us, loving him),” Cruz said.
She added, “Siyempre malungkot ako sa nangyayari (Of course, we’re sad about what’s going on). I’m really very worried about him. But in touch naman ako with Teresa (Loyzaga, Diego’s mother). ‘Yung mga kapatid niya (His siblings) texted him. I also messaged him if he’s okay.”
The stunning mom of three tried to be evasive when was asked if she believed the drug-use allegation thrown at Loyzaga by his dad.
“Nandun naman yata lahat sa kanyang mga statement ang sagot tungkol doon. Huwag niyo na ako i-involve. Basta mahal ko si Diego and si Teresa (His answer is all there in his statements. Don’t get me involved. One thing sure is I love Diego and Teresa)”, she said.
Cruz also noted that Loyzaga had kept his silence until he reached his boiling point.
“Wala kayong narinig na kahit ano sa bata (We had heard nothing from the boy. Well I guess, lahat ng tao ay may hangganan ang pagiging tahimik (all persons reach a point when they have to speak up),” she said.
Cesar’s tuition check post
The 38-year-old Cruz also shared her opinion on her estranged hubby’s controversial check post, which was another subject of Diego’s rants against his father. The 21-year-old actor had reposted his father’s Instagram post that said he [Cesar Montano] already paid for the tuition of his daughters with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz, showing in the photo documents and checks as proof that he was doing his obligations to his children.
“That happened a few months ago. I think it’s his obligation as the father. I never denied that he is paying for the tuition. It was ordered by the court actually,” Cruz said.
Montano has yet to speak about his conflict with his son.
