Katy Perry drops new single, disco balls in selected cities

After releasing her anthem “Rise” for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Katy Perry reclaims her pop throne with her disco single “Chained to the Rhythm.”

The pop singer teased a snippet of her comeback song on Wednesday and even took a portrait of her new hairstyle in relation to her musical release. “Why are we so chained?” she captioned the clip.

To electrify her “Katycats” even more, Perry, 32, announced that she had set up special disco balls playing “Chained to the Rhythm” across several cities around the globe. Some of the places where these chained disco balls have been planted are Los Angeles, Chicago, Tokyo, London and Stockholm. Only one glowing sphere is chained in South America and none in Southeast Asia and Africa.

The disco balls act like a music player where people can plug in their earphones to play the song. Many lucky musicaholics found Perry’s glittering disco globe and bopped to its old school beat on social media.
