For many millennials, revitalizing old cartoon series, such as Cartoon Network’s “Samurai Jack,” is a welcome nostalgic treat.
Well, the children’s series will be back on TV screens with a 10-episode season, which starts March 11 at the Adult Swim block, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Last Dec. 15, fans were thrilled to watch a short teaser of the animated series, which ran for four seasons from 2001 to 2004. It tells of the legend of a Japanese samurai prince who is on a gory quest to topple down the forces of Aku, a warlord. He time-travels to the dystopian future and encounters creatures from the modern eon. Jack’s original voice actor, Phil LaMarr, will reprise his role.
Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of “Samurai Jack” and “Dexter’s Laboratory,” said during last year’s San Diego Comicon that the series’ upcoming fifth and final season would let viewers weep in the end.

“It’s the final journey—whatever happens at the end is the end,” he said. “It’s something that I’ve wanted to do in animation for a long time, and it’s super-challenging, but if we get it right it’s going to leave people in tears.”
Previously, there were plans to produce “Samurai Jack” as a feature film but were junked after “Powerpuff Girls Movie” received lackluster reviews from fans. Gianna Francesca Catolico
