Paolo and Eula’s Amorsolo connection

Artistry is in the blood.

Two of the scions of painter Fernando Amorsolo, National Artist for Visual Arts, have picked up the brush, as well.

Actors Eula Valdes and Paolo Ballesteros are following in the footsteps of their famous relative.

One of Eula’s oil paintings adorned the living room of the late director Wenn V. Deramas.

On the other hand, Paolo can transform into such international celebrities as Mariah Carey and Angelina Jolie with a wave of a makeup brush. “My late father (Elito) was a painter in New York,” Paolo told the Inquirer. “’Ta Eula paints well, too.”

Eula’s mother is Amorsolo’s daughter (Gracia), while Paolo’s paternal grandmother (Virginia) is the artist’s daughter, as well. —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
