If there’s a will, there’s a way

SOTTO. Search for Ms Right continues.

Steve Llosa, office employee, asks: “What do newscasters Mike Enriquez, Noli de Castro, Ted Failon and Martin Andanar have in common? They seem to have come from the same school of ‘vocal projection.’ They always sound like there’s a catastrophe looming on the horizon! There’s bad news, all right—but, do they have to make it so obvious? Howie Severino, Ivan Mayrina and Raffy Tima deliver the news the way it should be—objective, and without gimmicks.”

Other notes:

Virgie Acedo, housewife: “Star Cinema and Viva Films are on a roll, earning mega bucks for their latest films, ‘No Other Woman’ and ‘Praybeyt Benjamin.’ Now, if only they could produce a movie that is successful not just at the box office, but also in terms of quality. That’s a tall order—but, if there’s a will, there’s a way!”

Flair for comedy

Arian Armas, seaman: “Among our comedians, I admire Vic Sotto because of his natural flair for comedy. He’s a giving performer, letting his sidekicks, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, shine on their own. I can also feel his concern for his fans. My only question is: Why is it taking him forever to find Ms Right?”

Sydney Tinawin, student: “TV5’s think-tank has to work double-time so that the channel’s program ratings can catch up with those of ABS-CBN and GMA 7. Their teleseryes, like ‘Sa Ngalan ng Ina’ and ‘Glamorosa,’ are notches better, but they’re seen only by a relative few.”
