Carrie Fisher’s death has left Hollywood devastated,  but “Star Wars” fanatics will still be able to witness her prowess in the film “Star Wars: Episode VIII.”

Fisher is about to reprise her illustrious role as Princess Leia Organa, the fiery and bold general of the Rebel Alliance, in the upcoming movie, but the crew will have to address her death when they shoot the ninth series in 2018. Sources revealed to Variety that Fisher’s work in “Star Wars: Episode VIII” is finished. Shooting for the “Star Wars” blockbuster ended in July and is now in the post-production stage.

She last appeared in “The Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in December 2015. Her portrayal in the films’ franchises through the decades helped reassess the image of princesses during an era where princesses “should be rescued by princes” instead of the other way around.

Aside from her “Star Wars” franchise, she had a recurring role in the comedy series “Catastrophe,” which will air its third season next year. Fisher also voiced the character of Angela in the popular American sitcom cartoon “Family Guy.” Before her tragic death, Fisher, 60, was scheduled to star in the upcoming film “Wonderwell.”

Fisher penned her last memoir, “The Princess Diarist,” wherein she revealed her three-month aromatic romance with co-star Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo in the intergalactic saga. Fisher was 19 years old, while Ford was 33, married, and a father of two, People reported.

In addition to “The Princess Diarist,” Fisher wrote the best-selling novel “Postcards from the Edge” and appeared in the ’90s flicks “Soapdish” and “When Harry Met Sally.”
