Taylor Swift fulfilled a WWII veteran and avid fan’s miraculous Christmas wish.
The pop icon, 27, visited the humble Missouri home of a 96-year-old war hero, Cyrus Porter, on Monday. Porter, who “fanboyed” at Swift’s concerts with his family for years, is currently battling cancer. Porter’s family fulfilled his last wish of seeing Swift strum her guitar and sing in front of him.
Aside from performing an acoustic version of her 2014 hit “Shake It Off”, Swift snapped selfies with Porter and his relatives, who uploaded them on Twitter. Swift managed to shake hands with 60 of Porter’s relatives for more than an hour, E! News reported.
“It’s a Christmas miracle,” grandson Robert Frye gushed. “Thank you, Taylor Swift. My grandpa was so excited!”

Another family member, Caroline Fowler, shared her bliss to the news site upon meeting the family’s idol. “My Popo was ecstatic! He was grinning from ear to ear and even had tears in his eyes,” she said. “The first thing he said to her was ‘How did you get here?’ He loved every moment. He told her how he was proud of his family, his country, and Taylor Swift.”
While combatting his war against cancer, Porter was lamenting because one of his daughters passed away before Christmas. Gianna Francesca Catolico
