Plus-sized model Ashley Graham has been selected to be the backstage presenter for the Miss Universe pageant to be held on Jan. 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The Miss Universe organization announced her appointment on its social media accounts.
Graham, 28, confirmed the news on her Twitter account on Thursday. “Excited to join Steve Harvey at Miss Universe as Backstage Host. Tune into Fox TV to watch,” she said.

In a world full of skinny and plump ramp models, Graham, a plus-sized lingerie model for Lane Bryant, broke the stereotype and graced the covers of Elle, Vogue, British Vogue, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar. Also, she is the first plus-sized woman to pose for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
As part of her body acceptance advocacy, Graham continues to inspire other women to be confident and proud of their bodies. Today, she is the newest judge on “America’s Next Top Model,” hosted by Rita Ora and executive-produced by Tyra Banks. She also trailblazed Mattel’s plus-sized Barbie doll patterned by her proportions.
Graham is wife to Justin Ervin, a videographer, whom she got married to in 2010. Gianna Francesca Catolico
