Gabby Concepcion does not seem to age at all. I’ve known Gab since my high school days. Not only has he maintained his looks, he has also remained down-to-earth. The ’80s heartthrob is still at it.
He will charm his way into viewers’ hearts by way of GMA 7’s latest drama series, “Ika-6 na Utos” (weekdays after “Eat Bulaga”). The show tackles love in all its forms, including extramarital affairs. How’s that for some afternoon delight?
Here’s my chat with Gabby:
What are your thoughts on infidelity? Infidelity makes a dent in a relationship. Boundaries must be drawn, so the relationship will be solid. Partners must be territorial to protect what’s rightfully theirs.
What makes husbands stray? A series of events that creates the kind of environment that would make husbands look elsewhere. Lack of spark. Communication breakdown.
What do you think of KC’s boyfriend, Aly Borromeo? He’s a gentleman, and they are well-suited for each other. I like him for KC. Based on our conversation and on what I see, he only has good intentions. I have nothing but good words for him.
Which movie of yours with Sharon Cuneta would you want to do a sequel of? “Una Kang Naging Akin,” our 1991 film with Dawn Zulueta.
What’s your favorite Christmas memory? I always feel like a kid every Christmas. I never lost my child-like wonder, so even just the sight of candy canes and stockings stuffed with gifts excites me.
A commotion-causing vlog for Kris?
Could it be true that Kris Aquino will make her comeback via a “vlog” (video blog), which will be mainly about her colorful life?
In typical Tetay fashion, she’s cooking up something that will cause a commotion.
Silver wedding anniversary
What a blast I had at the silver wedding anniversary celebration of my good friends, Jestoni and Lizette Alarcon. It was held in their fab four-story mansion.
The couple renewed their vows in a simple ceremony. I was a proxy for my mom, who was a ninang in the couple’s church wedding 25 years ago. (Jes showed me my photo, taken during their nuptials—an ultimate throwback shot.)
Jes and Liz told me that after three kids, they still get kilig (giddy) with each other.
Jes stays away from temptation by refusing to let flirtation get to him. “I just combat it with prayer and say, ‘Tukso, layuan mo ako (laughs),’” he told me.
Their love story is one for the books. After 13 days since they met, they immediately got hitched in Vegas. Then, the couple married each other again four more times.
They’re living proof that a whirlwind romance won’t end up being gone with the wind.
