Ogie writes song for baby Nate

Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez are savoring the joys of parenthood now that they have brought their baby boy, Nathaniel James, home. “Sarap ng feeling! Baby Nate is adjusting well. I wrote a song for him called ‘Aking Anak’,” Ogie relates. “That’s for my two baby girls, too.”

When will his daughters come over from Australia to see their little brother? “I still have to finalize family plans,” he says. “Probably by mid next year, my three kids will meet. I will see my daughters after Christmas.”

Will he and Reg allow Nate to join show biz or do commercials? “It doesn’t matter what’s in store for his future,” he says. “What’s important is for him to be raised as a God-fearing child.”

A few days after Nate was born, the proud parents turned over three brand new classrooms to the community of Adiangao in Camsur. The Kapuso school building is the first to be financed by the Ogie and Regine’s Celebrity Ukay-Ukay held last summer. Their next Ukay project will be on Dec. 9-18 at the Noel Bazaar at the PICC Forum.

As Ogie and Reg celebrate Christmas with their little angel Nate, they will also play angels to the less fortunate. Blessing begets blessing!

Concert tour

I am super excited about my first trip to Dubai. I have been invited by a concert producer, Jonathan Gulmatico, who has given many Pinoy talents a chance to shine in the UAE. He is mounting the show of Luke Mejares (produced by Monteswati Events Management Co., in cooperation with Club Seven and Park Regis Kris Krin Hotel) dubbed as “Simply Irresistible Concert Tour 2011” on November 25 and 26 at 11 p.m. at Club Seven Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel. Tickets are at 60 dirhams (www.clubsevendubai.com).

I am looking forward to bonding with our kababayans at the concert. I can’t wait to feel like an Arabian princess for a few days. Oh my Dubai!

Rumored departure

Many of my followers on dollyannec@twitter.com have been badgering me about DJ Mo’s plans to quit his TV and radio shows. They say he has been hinting about it on the air.

A friend of his told me that Mo is selling some of his cars and other properties. Is he disposing his stuff in preparation for his rumored departure? I still have to corner Mo about this.

Will he just be taking a long vacation to spend more time with his sick daughter Moira in the United States or is he leaving show biz for good? I remember Mo telling me that one of his biggest dreams is to buy an apartment in the Central Park area of New York. Has his dream finally come true?

If he is really leaving, he will surely be missed. He is irreplaceable in the biz. It’s such a joy and privilege to be cohosting “Paparazzi” with him.

Whatever his decision is, I hope he finds what he is looking for. Thank you for the friendship, Mo. We’ve had our minor differences but as I got to know you a little more, I’ve come to realize that beneath your fearlessness is a little boy who just needs to be understood and loved more.
