“Tadyakan,” Michael V’s goofy rendition of Up Dharma Down’s hit “Tadhana,” has reaped compliments from many netizens.

In fact, the ditty’s comic lyrics and timely impersonation caught the attention of the band’s lead singer, Armi Millare. She tweeted her and her mother’s good-hearted reaction to the “Bubble Gang” comedian’s spoof. “I’ve never heard my mother laugh so hard,” she wrote in a tweet.

Millare even admitted that she felt frightened to sing her own song after hearing “Tadyakan.” She tweeted, “Afraid to sing Tadhana tonight [because] I might end up singing Tadyakan.”

On Facebook, several netizens wondered if Millare found the parody offensive, and she responded. “Not offensive at all. My mom would be the first to tell me if it were, but she’s still laughing about it! But also happy to understand your brand of respect for the song,” she answered.

“I believe times are hard and this is a crucial time for the entertainment industry to intelligently put their craft to use. Michael V. has always been [a] testament to that.”

Several netizens praised Michael V.’s wit and creativity in “remaking” popular OPM tracks as the gag show celebrates its 21st anniversary on GMA 7. However, one netizen likened Bitoy’s imitation to a world-renowned designer with the same name. “Bakit parang si Michael Cinco ginaya ni Bitoy (Why did it appear that Bitoy mimicked Michael Cinco)?” the user curiously asked.

“Tadyakan,” which was one of the segments of Bubble Gang’s “21 Gang Salute” anniversary special, has earned nearly 200,000 views since it was uploaded on YouTube. It is one of the trending videos on the site as of this writing.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
