Returning read-along ambassador Bianca Umali could not believe it had been a year since she was named reading ambassador.

“Time flies!” said Umali, who read “Sina Linggit Laban Kay Barakuda” during the last session of the two-day #MyInquirer Read-Along Festival on Nov. 12. “I had a lot of fun reading with the kids who were very cooperative and attentive to me.”

“I am surprised that it’s been a year already since I became an ambassador!” she said, adding that she had to prepare for her return to the Festival. “I was pressured in a way that I had to study more Tagalog words since I’m not fluent in it, to prepare for this year’s Festival.”

Umali read after the storytelling competition final round, while the judges were busy deciding who among the five finalists would emerge as this year’s storytelling competition champion.

“I think our champion Jemimah really did a great job,” said Umali, who later on crowned Festival Queen Jemimah Rose Pestaño. “I hope she continues loving books and striving to learn from them.”
