Back in October, it was announced that Nam Tae Hyun of boy group WINNER would be halting activities indefinitely due to health issues.
YG Entertainment explained that it was due to a mental health issue that he has had since his trainee days. Unfortunately said illness worsened in the months prior to October.
Soompi reports that as of Nov. 18, Nam Tae Hyun’s exclusive contract with YG has been canceled. A YG source stated, “After lengthy discussions with Nam Tae Hyun it was judged that it would be difficult for him to continue activities through WINNER. His exclusive contract got canceled on November 18.”
The source added that members of WINNER prioritized Nam Tae Hyun’s health and recovery. While it is difficult to determine as to when he will recover, the other members still hope for improvement with regards to his condition.
YG announced that WINNER will not be getting a new member and will continue on as a four-member group. Alfred Bayle
