Controversial star has something in common with notorious celebs Naomi Campbell and Russell Crowe. When peeved, CS throws cell phones at shocked underlings. One employee got fed up and quit.
Big time flop
A source tole Rushes that a recent concert featuring Hunky Balladeer and Power Diva flopped big time abroad.
The duo – among the more popular performers in a major studio’s stable – brought only 400 people into a 3,000-capacity venue, the source added.
Needless to say, the organizer was so disheartened, he wouldn’t touch the poison pair with a ten-foot pole now.
What could be the reason behind the lackluster ticket sales? A source claims that HB sorely lacks charisma and isn’t too friendly with fans, ignoring snapshot seekers and autograph hunters. PD is also a snob, said another mole.
Blame game
People suspect that Power Couple broke up because Prolific Beau fooled around.
Alas, it turns out, it was the Pretty Girlfriend who strayed from the straight and narrow.
PG went steady with New Partner while she was still involved with PB. Is this the reason PB is taking it slow this time – once burned, twice shy?
Long hair
Handsome Hunk supposedly left Gorgeous Girlfriend – famous for long, lustrous pang-shampoo commercial tresses – for another long-haired model.
But HH’s New Love has a mustache and beard to go with the mane! NL tried to make a name in the biz, too, but was relegated to contravida roles because of his scruffy look.
Why he said yes
LOS ANGELES – Oscars veteran Billy Crystal stepped in Thursday to host this year’s Academy Awards show, after actor Eddie Murphy pulled out following a row over a producer’s antigay comments.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hailed Crystal – who has hosted the top Hollywood awards eight times before – as an “Oscar icon” who would be “back where he belongs” on stage at the February 26 show.
“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions,” Crystal wrote in a typically whimsical tweet, beating the Academy to the announcement. AFP
Break from Twitter
WASHINGTON – Ashton Kutcher, who currently has 8.27 million followers on Twitter, is taking a break from the service after a tweet about the firing of Pennsylvania State University’s iconic football coach, Joe Paterno, landed him in hot water.
“How do you fire Jo Pa? … I find it in poor taste,” Kutcher, the star of the television series “That ’70s Show” and husband of actress Demi Moore, wrote on his Twitter feed @aplusk.
Kutcher later removed the tweet, apologized and said in a subsequent blog post that he did not know the circumstances of Paterno’s firing when he wrote the message.
Paterno, 84, was fired by the board of trustees of Penn State on Wednesday amid an uproar over the handling of allegations of child molestation by one of his longtime assistant coaches. AFP
