Call him “Alden Recharged.”
Whenever Alden Richards goes overseas and visits different countries, there’s almost always work involved. That’s why his recent trip to the United Kingdom and Germany—with onscreen partner, Maine Mendoza, and friends—was a refreshing change, he said.
“I’ve never felt more relaxed during those five days. That time it was strictly vacation, so the experience was very different. I am recharged; I feel like I can do more things,” the GMA-7 star told reporters in a brief interview, after his recent launch as the new face of Oppo’s F1s Limited smartphone.
The 24-year-old actor related that one of the highlights of the trip was visiting the convent of the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters, or the “Pink Sisters,” in the town of Bad Driburg in Germany. “We found time to reflect on everything that has been happening in our lives now. We thanked the Lord for all the blessings … Meeting the head of the Pink Sisters there was great,” recalled Alden, who’s also set to open another branch of his restaurant, in Quezon City, tentatively by this month’s end.
“I’m very hands-on when it comes to [my businesses]. My partner always updates me about the progress. I’m excited,” said Alden, who’s part of the fantasy flick “Enteng Kabisote 10 and the Abangers,” which is vying for a spot in the lineup of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. “We’re done, so fingers crossed!”
As for his Christmas plans, Alden told the Inquirer that he would mostly like to stay home and spend it with his family. “That’s what I’m used to,” he said. “Maybe we can celebrate Christmas out of the country next year.”
