WONDER WOMAN - Official Trailer [HD]

Warner Bros. unveiled its action-packed trailer for the stand-alone film of DC’s almighty heroine on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

The first part of the “Wonder Woman” trailer has Diana Prince, played by Gal Gadot, strutting on the glass pyramid structure in Louvre, Paris, until she sights an antiquated portrait of Wonder Woman and her friends.

“I used to want to save the world, this beautiful place. But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within,” she says. The film’s plot time travels several decades back to the World War I era and subsequently the tale of Wonder Woman, who once lived in Themyscira, an island located at the heart of the Amazon wilderness. She eventually rescues US Air Force pilot Steve Trevor, portrayed by Chris Pine, making him the first male to set foot on the island. She pledges to safely return him to his country.

Several noteworthy scenes pops up, including the time Wonder Woman’s wrist cuff deflected a bullet fired by an American soldier. One scene features her whirling her golden Lasso of Truth through the gloomy sky. In the latter part of the film, the ferocious warrior eventually shares a soft spot with Trevor and falls in love with him.

Gadot reprises her role after a brief appearance at “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” earlier this year.

“Wonder Woman” is scheduled to swoop down on movie houses on June 2, 2017.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
