Insiders roll their eyes whenever talk turns to Tinseltown’s latest pairing.
Seems Fame-hungry Newcomer has found a willing victim in Perky Celeb.
FN and PC are virtually inseparable these days. And even if PC is unescorted, FN remains a constant, hovering presence.
It’s because PC keeps yakking about FN in front of exasperated pals.
It must be love? Well, for PC, at least, the affection is the real deal.
As for FN?
Well, FN was able to clinch a few projects largely because of PC, who remains blissfully unaware of the wheeling and dealing.
Hmmm…
Domination
Hunky Charmer used to be a dud in the acting department.
In his latest venture, however, HC has vastly improved. How could HC have evolved into a sensitive performer overnight?
Is it because HC has experienced pain—in both the professional and personal spheres, in public and in the boudoir?
There was a time HC was frequently spotted in the company of Closeted Gay, who could easily dominate the poor boy in the bedroom.
Ouch!
Bad blood
Now it can be told.
No wonder there is bad blood between Vociferous Personality and Controversial Kin.
Of course, VP is standing by Scandalous Relative, who’s waging a bloody war against CK and other family members.
According to insiders, money, the root of all evil, drove a wedge between the two sides of the same wealthy clan.
SR’s camp suspects that CK once raided the treasure trove of Disgraced Nemesis.
Is that the reason why VP is now harping about past indiscretions?
Is that a not-so-gentle warning directed at CK—shut up or face the consequences?
Missing in action
Colleagues were stunned speechless by the unprofessional behavior of Talented Cutie.
Bosses made the mistake of setting up a big gathering for TC.
The event cost a pretty penny. Not a few coworkers went out of their way to attend the shindig.
On the day itself, however, TC was nowhere in sight.
TC actually stood up the hapless guests at the launch of an enterprise that seemed cursed from the get-go.
Chemical reaction
From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Gifted Performer quit using drugs years ago. But it seems the past continues to haunt GP.
On the set, coworkers often catch GP staring blankly into space. Sometimes, GP would forget lines of dialogue.
Worst of all are the unpredictable mood swings. GP tends to pull everyone down when depression hits. Must be some sort of a chemical imbalance.
It’s a pity because GP is one of the best among the present generation of thespians.
Top of show biz news
For those who missed last weekend’s show biz news on TV. (And why we are moved, if we are moved.)
Gerald Anderson on attending the Star Magic Ball with Bea Alonzo: “Syempre ako ang pinakamaswerteng lalaki.” (Is their movie still showing?)
Jessy Mendiola on attending the ball with Luis Manzano: “Ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng partner sa ganito.” (As they say, there’s always a first time for everything…)
Piolo Pascual on walking the red carpet without a date: “Mas mabuti nang mag-solo, mahirap na.” (Why, Papa P, who did you have in mind to walk the red carpet with ba? Share naman.)
Robin Padilla, asked if he already has a US visa, so he could accompany wife Mariel Rodriguez, who’s giving birth there in November: “May pag-asa naman, malaki ang pag-asa.” (That’s what they always say.)
Daniel Padilla on mother Karla Estrada getting a “popular celebrity mommy” award: “Rakenrol si Mommy.” (That’s part of having a “magandang buhay.”)
Karylle on reports that her mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and Conrad Onglao have gotten back together and have applied for a marriage license: “Mas maganda na rin siguro na hindi ko alam para wala akong maisagot, kasi ’di ko rin naman kayang mag-lie. Time heals all wounds, and everyone has an interesting story. But I believe that family will always be protected by prayers and the love we have for each other.” (O, s’ya—neeeext!)
Maja Salvador on taking up business administration in an online school: “Hindi naman natin alam kung hanggang kailan ang pag-aartista ko.” (Go, gurl!)
Maja on her love life: “For the record, I’m single…Sila ang lumalapit, pero busy pa ako… Ang ganda ko!” (Yeah, we heard that, too.)
Sharon Cuneta, reminiscing about her past romance with Robin during her recent concert: “I would have married him, except that I found out someone [was] pregnant—and it wasn’t me!” (Ouch. Cue Gloria Estefan, “Bad, bad, bad, bad boy—you make me feel so good!”)
Kaye Abad on Paul Jake Castillo, whom she’ll marry soon: “Before that, I wasn’t attracted sa kanya. ’Di ko alam ang nangyari, kinain ko lahat ng sinabi ko! Sobrang magkasundo kami.” (Sana, nabusog siya…)
Kaye on having a baby: “Ready na ako!” (Push mo ’yan, ’teh.)
Lovi Poe on her love scenes with Derek Ramsay in “The Escort”: “They did it tastefully, so I’m happy. Derek was very professional at maalaga talaga.” (We all should get that tasteful treatment from Derek, agree?)
Ai-Ai delas Alas on being given the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, a Papal award: “I’m so humbled na sa dami ng nilalang sa mundo, bakit ako?” (Our thoughts exactly: Bakit nga ba?)
