WATCH: Caesar the ape revenges in ‘Planet of the Apes’

Movie fans on Thursday had a glimpse of the third installment of the “Planet of the Apes” franchise, as its chilling teaser was released.

The newly released chilling teaser for the “War for the Planet of the Apes” features Caesar the ape, voiced by Andy Serkis, being frozen in a blizzard, then vanishing in darkness. It is declared that the ape army is seeking malevolent revenge against Colonel, portrayed by Woody Harrelson. During the previous blockbuster movies, the ape race bowed down to Colonel in a bloody combat.

BACKSTORY:French sci-fi novel sparked ‘Planet of the Apes’ mythology

“You must go before fighting begins…I am sorry, war has begun,” the primate warned. Caesar wages war against opponents that will determine the fate of both ape and human species.

The film was directed by Matt Reeves and also stars Gabriel Chavarria and Steve Zahn. Chernin Entertainment, in collaboration with Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, produced the war-heavy series.

It was a sequel to 2014’s “The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” and 2011’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” which earned $710 million ( P34 billion) and $481 million (P23 billion), respectively.
