Coach Vincent “Chot” Reyes will be the new president and CEO of TV5 Network starting Oct. 3.
Reyes currently acts as officer-in-charge of TV5 Network and president of Media5 Marketing Corp.
A former coach in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), as well as of the Philippine national basketball team, Reyes was the head of Sports5 and Digital5 (or D5 Studio), before moving up as OIC of the network.
He is assuming the network’s leadership upon the departure of TV5 president Noel Lorenzana last Sept. 30.
In an exclusive interview with the Inquirer, Reyes explained that TV5 Network will adhere to a three-pronged strategy under his term.
“Our three pillars are counter-programming, digital content and E-Sports,” Reyes said.
In the hugely popular E-Sports or gaming space, he pointed out, “Digital5 offers the Good Game Network, a multi-channel network and portal where we show gaming competitions, complete with analysis. Our experts also review the latest games and gadgets there.”
Focusing on the three pillars, he said, is in line with the network’s goal to engage a younger audience.
