MINISERIES chronicles birth of iconic bike.

The best movies from Germany are on view at the German Film Week currently unreeling in Ayala Mall cinemas at Glorietta 4 and Trinoma.

The festival opened last Sept. 21 with “Who Am I—No System Is Safe” by Baran Bo Odar, about a gifted hacker who only feels at home in virtual reality.

Also being screened are “The Colony,” starring Emma Watson, “24 Weeks,” “As We Were Dreaming,” “The Dark Side of the Moon,” “Head Full of Honey,” “I’m Off Again,” “Between the Worlds,” “Labyrinth of Lies,” “Stations of the Cross,” “Meteor Street,” “Wild” and “Rough Road Ahead.” Visit the Goethe website.

‘Harley and the Davidsons’

Discovery’s rip-roaring, three-part mini-series, “Harley and the Davidsons,” will premiere on Oct. 2 at 10 p.m. It chronicles the birth of the iconic bike, the Harley Davidson, during a time of great social and technological change at the turn of the 20th century.

Walter, Arthur and Bill Davidson risked their entire fortune to launch the budding enterprise with engineer Bill Harley.

The stellar cast includes Michiel Huisman, Robert Aramayo and Bug Hall, and direction is by Stephen Kay.

Invitational golf tournament

This Sept. 30, the Turf Company will host the third Turf Invitational Golf Tournament at the Orchard Golf & Country Club in Dasmariñas, Cavite. Registration starts at 6:15 a.m. with free breakfast.

Participants include officers and representatives from various clubs, guests and customers who have been business partners in the industry for many years.
