GORDON Ramsay

GORDON Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay has made a name for himself as a TV chef by coming across as a termagant and teutonic terror in the kitchen.

He has created the scarifying image of a culinary perfectionist who allows no flubs, flops or flip-flops from his assistants—and can be expected to throw a fiery and monumental temper tantrum when they fall short!

Truth to tell, however, we’ve befriended a Filipino chef who’s worked for Ramsay, and he debunks the famously feisty chef’s TV image.

FEATURED STORIES

He worked with Ramsay in London for years, he recalls, and learned a lot about cooking from the master—without  being shouted at and insulted from head to toe!—On TV, Ramsay has a “terror tsar” image to live up to, so it’s a different story!

This year, however, it looks like a key adjustment is being made that brings the TV host’s image closer to his real persona, especially as Ramsay relates to the members of his family.

On his AFC show, “Gordon’s Ultimate Home Cooking,” the TV terror, tsar, tsunami and fiery force of nature now comes across as—a doting dad!

That’s right, Ramsay is still in charge of the kitchen, but he now smilingly, warmingly and forgivingly shares it with his young daughters and son, whom he mentors in the culinary arts that he’s mastered through decades of endless discovery and experience.

Fans and especially critics of Gordon Ramsay are in for a good, not rude, awakening because his kids clearly love and feel completely comfortable with him as they whip up a wide range of dishes.

Daddy Gordon’s intense culinary curiosity has apparently rubbed off on his progeny, whom he tutors in cooking dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, inspired by kitchen traditions and practices from all over the world.

The Ramsay kids appear to be having such a great time that we wouldn’t be surprised if some of them will end up as chefs themselves—and host their own TV cooking shows!

By that time, “old” Daddy Gordon would be able to take a long vacation from the heat and stress of the TV kitchen, go on a world tour, switch off, and smell—the coriander, bay laurel, catnip, chervil, cilantro and squash flowers!

Until that time comes, however, “Gordon’s Ultimate Home Cooking” is a learning and viewing treat not just for his kids, but also for young people who want to cook yummy dishes for their own folks—and also as an eventual “passionate profession.”

Ramsay is a good mentor for young chef wannabes because he doesn’t just teach cooking techniques, but also delves into culinary traditions, as well as sharing secret tricks of the trade.

Best of all, he “infects” his TV trainees with his love for cooking, no longer with “terror,” but with—fatherly fervor!
