Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian has denounced the Wall Street Journal for posting a printed advertisement downplaying the 1915 Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire, which cost the lives of over 1.5 million Armenians.
The Armenian Educational Foundation ran Kardashian’s influential letter on The New York Times on Saturday. In the one-page spread, Kardashian admitted that she was “no strangers to BS in the press” but pondered if the said publication would print an advertisement that renounced the Holocaust or invented a 9/11 blast conspiracy theory.
In the article titled “Genocide Denial Cannot Be Allowed,” Kardashian, 35, wrote, “For a trusted publication to profit from genocide – it’s shameful and unacceptable.”

“Advocating the denial of a genocide by the country responsible for it—that’s not publishing a ‘provocative viewpoint,’ that’s spreading lies. It’s totally morally irresponsible and, most of all, it’s dangerous,” the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star elucidated.
In a report by the New York Daily News, a representative of the publication defended the ad, which was paid for by Fact Check Armenia and published in April. “We accept a wide range of advertisements, including those with provocative viewpoints. While we review ad copy for issues of taste, the varied and divergent views expressed belong to the advertisers,” the representative told the news site. Gianna Francesca Catolico
